Hymn of the week 9 - Thine love indeed!

Though the hymn of the week has become quite an irregular serie in this blog , I don't want to lose the joy and blessedness that comes with thinking upon the truth of each of those gems.
I came across this hymn this week. I knew the beautiful melody but have never listen to it sung in the church...yet. I sat down to play and learn it...well it was more than what I was expecting....

Jesus I am resting , resting in the joy of what Thou art;
I am  finding out the the greatness of Thy loving heart;
Thou hast bid me gaze upon Thee; and Thy beauty fills my soul,
for by Thy transforming power, Thou hast made me whole.

Jesus I am resting , resting in the joy of what Thou art;
I am  finding out the the greatness of Thy loving heart!

O how great Thy loving kindness, vaster broader that the sea!
O how marvellous Thy goodness, lavished all on me!
Yes, I rest in Thee beloved, know what wealthy of grace is Thine,
know Thy certainty of promise, and have made it mine.
O how great Thy loving kindness, vaster broader that the sea!
O how marvellous Thy goodness, lavished all on me!

Simply trusting Thee, Lord Jesus, I behold Thee as Thou art,
and Thy love, so pure, so changeless, satisfies my heart;
satisfies its deepest longings, meets, supplies its every need,
compasseth me around with blessings; Thine is love indeed!
Simply trusting Thee, Lord Jesus, I behold Thee as Thou art,
and Thy love, so pure, so changeless, satisfies my heart;

Ever lift Thy face upon me, as I work and wait for Thee;
resting 'neath Thy smile Lord Jesus, earth's dark shadows flee.
Brightness of my father's glory, sunshine of my Father's face.
keep me ever trusting resting; fill me with Thy grace.
Ever lift Thy face upon me, as I work and wait for Thee;
resting 'neath Thy smile Lord Jesus, earth's dark shadows flee
Jean Sophia Pigott, 1845-82

Am I really finding out in this Christian walk more and more of the greatness of the Love of Jesus?
Does his beauty fills my soul? Is his transforming power making me whole?

Does the love of Jesus ( which is so pure and changeless) and his love alone, satisfies my needs, my deepest longings, my heart and soul?? Do I know this love?

Can I say that I rest upon the smile of Jesus? that the brightness of the Father's glory drives away all darkness in my life? that I am filled with grace???

Be blessed!
PS: don't forget to  listen to the hymn .
