Auckland City

Hello everyone!

Today I went to Auckland City. It is a beautiful place and I could finally take a decent picture of the skytower. It is about 20 kilometers from the place I'm staying. There goes some pictures:

Earthquake

As you all know by now, the city of Christchurch, in the south island of New Zealand has been struck by a severe earthquake, about 2 days ago. The city is destroyed and even the buildings that are still standing will probably have to be rebuilt. 

The Word and Prayer - Abiding and Abounding

"Abide in ME and I in you"

This is the clear command of our Lord.It is the last and culminating point of His will as revealed in the four great words:

Come unto ME;

Learn of ME;

Follow ME;

Abide in ME;

It is also expresses the intense desire of every Christian heart."Oh that Thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that Thine hand might be with me, and that Thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! (1Chro 4:10)," Oh that my ways were made so direct that I may keep Thy statutes"(Psa 119:5).

 And Since God never Commands without giving grace to obey and never prompts the heart to desire what it cannot be granted, we may be sure that the command to abide can be obeyed and that the desire to abide will be satisfied.

The Skytower

This is the famous skytower, in Auckland City. It is huge. Sorry for the low quality of the picture and by the bad angle. Will try to take a better picture in the next few days.

Family News! The Great Walk in NZ

Paulo has arrived safely in New Zealand!
He says it's very hot there (about 30'C), but during the night, it's cooler and there are many mosquitos...Just like in Brazil!
He already got an opportunity to talk about the Lord with 2 other students that were in the same flight as him, from Malasya to New Zealand. They were going to the same University as him (Massey University) and one of them says she is going to church on Sunday... God be praised for that!
Keep him in your prayers, as he will be spending some months in that country. Pray that the Lord will continue to bless him as he shares the Gospel in a new continent!

The unseen presence of Jesus - Elizabeth Prentiss

I was thinking of the hour when the Christian first enters into the joy of his Lord, when the first note of the "new song" is borne to his ear, and the first view of the Lamb of God is granted to his eye.

It seems to me as if the bliss of that one minute would fully compensate for all the toils and struggles he must go through here; and then to remember the ages of happiness that begin at that point! 

Oh, if the unseen presence of Jesus can make the heart to sing for joy in the midst of its sorrow and sin here, what will it be to dwell with him forever!
