Timothy and Eminent usefulness

This poor blog has almost died out in this past months... Excerpts and quotes of the little I could read throughout the year made up the "pages" of this blog :) . However we are back, I hope.
We keep walking this great (but arduous) walk of faith! We pray for love towards God, from a pure heart,from a good conscience, and from sincere faith.

Yes you are right if you thought I have been reading through the letter to Timothy. The challenge is ever before me and I encourage you:

• To fight the good fight

• To pursue righteousness ( a right conduct towards fellow man), godliness ( a right conduct towards GOD), faith, love, PATIENCE ( stickability), gentleness.

• To guard what has been committed to [your] trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings of what is falsely called knowledge ( some have strayed). 
• To be dilligent to present [yourself] approved, a worker who who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth

so I hope your summer may be one of eminent usefulness!

Eminent piety is essential to eminent usefulness. It is eminent piety alone which will enable us to take a clear and impressive view of the object to be sought, and  supply the energies necessary for obtaining it. It is eminent piety alone which will purify our motives and produce that spirit of profound humility, self-denial, dependence and entire consecration which are necessary to qualify us for the work. It is eminent piety alone which will keep up the spirit of faith and prayer to which the divine promises are made.We must become more devout, more prayerful, more holy, more heavenly, more spiritual.
