I want to take the time here to thank the Lord for so many works of providence that became evident this last Sunday:
We had purposed to go to church this Sunday but (as it is evident from our current weather conditions), ours were the plans of the heart (Pro 16:1), but from the Lord the answer would come concerning our ability to go or not.All we could hear in the news was how dangerous roads were, and how inadvisable it was to drive over this weekend. Overnight there seemed like a sudden change in the weather, and in the morning there was no sign of frost.
We are so thankful for such a safe driving ( except for a little bird that we hit on our way
), and how roads were actually better than the usual.
--------
The morning brought us many opportunities to Consider Jesus.I am very thankful that we were able to come to church. The sermon ( being on our Lord's first coming to this world) , has given us the opportunity to meditate upon the fact that to be our Saviour and Lord, Jesus Christ has become like ourselves in every sense (except sinning). He became the Son of man, that we through Him , would become the children of God.
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Heb 4:15
-----------
In addition to the morning "spiritual food" and the safe driving, there is much more to be thankful for:
We had an interesting conversation with a non-believer and once again I realised that God is so powerful and evidently present, that even though many reject salvation ( out of a rebellious heart by nature); it is never because Christianity doesn't "explain" things, or because Christianity is only based on an unreasonable foundation. It is simply because they are blind, or dead in trespasses and sins ( Ephesians 2:1). So we could rejoice on our own salvation knowing that it wasn't out of our own intellectual understanding, but because of God's mercy that we were made alive. (Eph 2:1). Let us be reminded to pray (Joh 15:7) for this man as he mentioned he would be searching out for the truth:

- That we could bring a dear friend along with us;
- For our dear Christian friends that have been so hospitable to us;
- For new acquaintances made;
- For our annual carol evening service;
- For the number of people ( non-Christians) that could hear the Word of God;
- For the opportunity to talk about profitable and eternal things ( following the service );
| The Church was packed |
And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Jer 29:13
- For a safe driving back home;
- For more interesting profitable conversations ( Noella and her endless questions
);
- For a good night's sleep;
Finally for witnessing so much of God's care ( things are starting to freeze up now).
What are you thankful for??
In Christ
